Check-ins run as UPDATE … WHERE is_scanned = false, so two simultaneous scans can never both win.
Event-bound passes
Every QR is cryptographically bound to its event ID. A pass from another event is refused outright.
Server-side execution
Check-in logic runs inside server functions, never in the browser. There is no client to tamper with.
Gate code rotation

Row-level security
